Family-Owned Farm in the Ozarks

Cook Riverside Farm is a family-owned and operated farm located in the heart of the Ozarks in Missouri. Since 2021, we have been producing Scottish Highland cattle between Lake of the Ozarks and Fort Leonard Wood.

The Scottish Highland breed is low maintenance and is finished well on grass.

We pride ourselves on calm, handled calves. Our focus is to introduce human interaction with the calf and momma at birth.

We are out in the pastures at least daily to keep that bond and connection formed. As all cattle are different with their own personality, some will come right up for attention while others prefer their personal bubble.

We raise AHCA (American Highland Cattle Association) and HHCA (Heartland Highland Cattle Association) registered highlands.

Quality Cattle Farming Experience
Sustainable Farming Practices

Our farm is dedicated to providing high-quality Scottish Highland cattle while practicing sustainable farming methods in the beautiful Ozarks of Missouri.

We attempt to farm as naturally as possible. Our cattle are strictly grass-fed. Our pastures are large with room to roam throughout the year. We do feed grass hay bales during our winter season. We have ponds and freshwater troughs, which are filled daily.

The fold does receive salt and mineral blocks as well as range cubes (the cubes are treats that are handfed), this teaches them to come when called.

Weaning calves are brought into the corrals where they continue to have full sight of momma to ease their stress. We do provide grain during weaning which helps in the transition process.
